Description
This Trust Equestrian Bit has a 2.5 ring with a straight mouthpiece with a medium port. The port allows freedom of the tongue. The port creates space for the tongue and decreases the pressure on the centre of the horseโs tongue. More tongue freedom is ideal for horses that have a sensitive tongue or horses that stick out the tongue.
The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue colour. Sweet Iron will rust when it comes into contact with (air) humidity, the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more, which in turn will encourage a better acceptance of the bit. The process of rusting (oxidation) changes the blue colour of the TRUST bits to a brownish-grey. This is the desired effect of the Sweet Iron bits. If a Sweet Iron bit is not used for a while, an orange-brown rust layer may form on the mouthpiece. Simply remove this by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
Sweet Iron bits are suitable for all horses. Sweet Iron helps the horse to salivate more, which will encourage a better acceptance of the bit.
The bit fulfilsย an important task in the communication between rider and horse. An ideal bit is a bit that the horse accepts and that allows the rider to communicate optimally with the horse. But there is not one bit which all horses accept. Every horse and rider has different needs and it is important to meet these needs. TRUST equestrian has a wide collection of bits that can meet these needs.
